IMMAC GROUP INVESTS IN IRELAND
The Hamburg-based IMMAC group just acquired three inpatient care centres in Dublin along with their operation by the Beechfield Group. The transaction kicks off what is to become a long-term commitment by IMMAC in Ireland. The basis for the new international commitment was an extensive survey by the IMMAC Research team in Hamburg.
Going forward, IMMAC intends to invest an annual c. 30-50 million euros on the Irish market, buying additional care home operators and their property assets and developing new structures. A definitive role in this context will be played by Antaris Healthcare Holding (an affiliated company of IMMAC Group) as it will mastermind the future operator management.
“Beechfield is the perfect basis for IMMAC’s market entry in Ireland. We will fully integrate the group and its management team and expand the platform for our activities in Ireland. So, I am very pleased to say that the management team headed by Sarah McMickan will remain on board,” said Marcus H. Schiermann, the company’s founder and Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the IMMAC group.
“Beechfield is entering an exciting new phase in its ongoing evolution. We are delighted that the incoming owners share the approach of Beechfield, which places excellence in nursing care front and centre in everything it does, and we wish IMMAC together with Sarah McMickan and her team every success for the future,” said David Andrews, the former chairman of the supervisory board of the Beechfield Care Group and Managing Director of Lioncourt Investments.
